I've had much more luck setting up FCK, although, it's a little more resource hungry. But we'll try it and see.

I'd be in favor of trying FCKEditor. I used this in the past and was mostly happy with it. I agree we type a lot of text and could do without any editor (puting the html anchors by hand when needed). But if it's not too much tgrouble, giving a try to FCKEDitor could be interesting.

Also, FCKEditor is available.

I think that for our group here, that we could probably disable such WYSIWYG editors. because we are mostly typing straight text.

Just an opinion.

Although, it is possible to configure the default size of the editor, etc And, we could make all of the improvements additions mentioned by Frederic. I just have not had time over past couple of weeks to address.

I will keep this on my list. We can try FCK editor, and/or try to improce TinyMCE as mentioned by Fred above. Or, we can forego any WYSIWYG editor at all.

Mixed results aboutTinyMCE

After using TinyMCE for a couple of weeks, I have mixed feelings about it. While is is easier to add links with it and do basic formatting, there are still a couple of issues:

I find the display font size quite small
we still have the "navigating away..." warning message
I still haven't dive in its settings files to let additional formatting options being displayed (font familly, font size, ..)
We miss a code view to do advanced formatting in HTML

Please, people let us know what you think of using TiyMCE versus the standard field box.

Not sure exactly what you are looking for, but, in the admin functions are he set up for TinyMCE, and you may be able to add functions you are looking for...

Is there an expert interface. One thing I miss right now is a way to define the size of the text without editing the HTML code of a comment.

Getting navigating away

This is actually the same editor that WordPress uses for content. Do you like it? Feedback welcome.... Also, has a smaller profle than FCKEditor, so it will slow down server less. Also added compression for when the editor is served
